The goal
Read 24 books by this time next year
Make it yours: change the highlighted parts, the numbers and the wording. In Ascanti the dates are set from the quarter you start in.
How you'll know you got there
24 books finished, each with a line of notes.
Why this works
Reading two books a month sounds like a lot, but it's mostly a scheduling problem. At 20 to 30 minutes a day, a typical book takes a couple of weeks. This plan protects a daily reading slot, keeps a short 'up next' list so you don't stall between books, and lets you drop books you're not enjoying.
Milestones
One checkpoint for each of the first three quarters. The goal itself lands in the fourth.
- Quarter 1Habit set: a daily reading slot and 6 books finished
- Quarter 2Halfway: 12 books finished and a list for the rest
- Quarter 3Strong finish: 18 books finished, on pace for 24
Key results
Numbers you can check at any point to see whether you're on track.
- Books finished: 24 books
- Days with 20 or more minutes of reading: 250 days
