The goal
Run useful weekly 1:1s with my 4 direct reports by the end of the quarter
Make it yours: change the highlighted parts, the numbers and the wording. In Ascanti the dates are set from the quarter you start in.
How you'll know you got there
Every report has a weekly 1:1 they rate as useful, and each has a written growth goal.
Why this works
For a new manager, the 1:1 is the most useful meeting you run. Done well, it's where problems come up early, people feel heard and growth gets planned. Done badly, it turns into a status update. This plan sets a consistent rhythm, hands the agenda to your report, and adds a simple feedback loop so you know whether the meetings are working.
Milestones
One checkpoint for each month of the quarter.
- Month 1Rhythm set: weekly 1:1s booked with everyone and a shared agenda doc for each
- Month 2Going deeper: a career conversation held with each report
- Month 3Feedback loop: each report has rated the 1:1s and I've made one change from it
Key results
